Sidney Crosby over 1.5 points (+130)
Sidney Crosby just continues to get it done. At 35, he has shown no signs of slowing down. Crosby leads the Penguins in goals, assists and points with 13, 20 and 33 respectively in 25 games played. Pittsburgh ranks 6th in the NHL in goals scored per game with 3.52. There is a good chance that any offense the Penguins generate will go through Crosby. He centers the Penguins’ top line and top power play. At any time, Crosby is on the ice with some combination Jake Guentzel, Rickard Rakell, Jeff Petry and Evgeni Malkin among others. Crosby averages over 20 minutes of ice time per game, is put in positions to succeed, and for all intents and purposes the team goes as Crosby goes.
Tonight brings a very favorable matchup for Crosby and the Penguins. They host the Blue Jackets, who are in the cellar of the Eastern Conference standings and have the T-2nd fewest points in the NHL. With 3.96 goals allowed per game, Columbus ranks second-to-worst in the league in goal prevention. These teams have met once already this season in a game which the Penguins won 6-3. Crosby tallied a goal and 2 assists for 3 points with 5 shots on goal in 20:49 time on ice. Pittsburgh is a good team in good form, and has already shown to be a tough matchup for Columbus. Crosby has a great chance to have a repeat performance against the Blue Jackets.

Joe Pavelski over 0.5 assists (+125)
The Stars have been fantastic this season and Joe Pavelski has been a major factor. In 25 games played, Pavelski has 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points with 65 shots and averages over 17 minutes of ice time. He is on the Stars’ top line with Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson, and is on Dallas’ top power play with those guys plus Jamie Benn and Miro Heiskanen. Pavelski is playing a great brand of hockey and plays with star players every shift. His line-mate Jason Robertson leads the NHL in goals and is 3rd in the NHL in points. Pavelski has over a point per game, and has opportunities every game to pad his stats playing with a superstar such as Robertson among other strong players.
The Maple Leafs are a fellow great team that will give the Stars a tough game. It is games like this where a team’s top 6 get more ice time than usual because there is a good chance this one will be tight scoring for all 60 minutes. Dallas ranks 2nd in the NHL with 3.92 goals scored per game, and they have the league’s 5th-best power play. They also have the league’s 2nd-most goals scored per game at 5-on-5. The Stars have scored 5 goals in each of their last 2 games, and have scored 4+ goals in 13 of 16 games since November 1. Pavelski will get plenty of ice time and opportunity to tally an assist in Dallas’ high-powered offense.
