Conor Sheary over 0.5 points (+115)
The Capitals are one of the hotter teams in the NHL right now. They have won 9 of their last 10 games and their last 5 straight games on the road. Washington has a tough test returning to play on Tuesday night facing a fellow hot team in the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. In a tightly contested game, the top players will garner the majority of the ice time and opportunities. Conor Sheary qualifies as one of those in this game as he plays on Washington’s top line with Alex Ovechkin, and on their 2nd power-play line. He has averaged over 16 minutes of ice time per game, and is consistently on the ice with Washington’s top playmakers. Washington is clicking right now and Sheary is right there in the mix of contributors.
Sheary is 2nd on the Capitals with 10 goals. He has 21 points in 36 games, but his line-mates and matchup give him a good opportunity to be in the mix on Tuesday. Sheary’s ice time has ticked up over the last couple of games, playing 19:00 and 17:20 before the 3-day break. At any time, he is likely to be on the ice with Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, John Carlson or Dmitry Orlov among other impactful Caps players. With Washington’s lineup still banged up, Sheary will continue to be a key player for the Capitals. Tuesday’s game against the Rangers looks set to be a very good, close game. Sheary and Washington’s top line will continue to log important minutes and be a significant part of their team success.

Sebastian Aho anytime goal scorer (+115)
The Hurricanes’ Tuesday night matchup against the Blackhawks looks to be as lopsided as any on the slate and it’s in favor of Carolina. If they can run up the score as expected, Sebastian Aho has a good chance to get involved in the offensive production and get on the scoresheet. The Hurricanes are another team who are absolutely rolling right now. Carolina has won 8 straight as part of a 12-0-1 run. They have also won their last 6 home games. The Blackhawks have lost 8 of their last 9 games and sit in the cellar of the NHL with 20 points. The Hurricanes should not have any issues taking care of the Blackhawks. Although this pick is strictly for a player prop, the team’s anticipated success is a key indicator of his role tonight.
Aho has 27 points in 27 games, and has goals in 2 of his last 3 games. He skates over 20 minutes per game on average centering Carolina’s 2nd line and top power play. On the team with the 2nd-most points in the NHL, Aho is a point-per-game player who is significant contributor to their success. One of the best teams in the league playing the worst team in the league indicates a very favorable matchup and there should be plenty of offensive chances for Aho. If Carolina can produce as expected, Aho will be right in the mix.
