Alex Killorn over 0.5 points (+120)
If there was ever any doubt that the Lightning were going to be contenders after their slower start to the season, they are firmly back. They have won 9 out of their last 11 games and are 3 points behind Toronto in the standings having played 2 fewer games. These teams played earlier this month in a game which the Lightning won 4-3. In that game, Alex Killorn had the overtime winning goal on 15:26 of ice time including 2:39 of power-play time. The Lightning rank 3rd in the NHL in goals per game, and have the league’s 5th-best power play. If any team can give this strong Toronto goal prevention a challenge, Tampa is as good as any.
Killorn is on Tampa’s 2nd line with Steven Stamkos and Nick Paul, and is also on their 2nd power play with Paul, Corey Perry and Ross Colton. At any time, Killorn is on the ice with very good players that are key offensive contributors. Killorn has a respectable 22 points and a +9 rating in 30 games played. In a heavyweight tilt against Toronto, Tampa’s top 6 forwards and top 4 defensemen will likely log the most ice time as the game progresses. This game has a good chance hit the over just like the first one. In that case, Killorn has a good chance at a strong +120 value to log a point.

Jared McCann anytime goal scorer (+165)
This Kraken team looks like a completely different one than last year’s inaugural Kraken team that finished 3rd-to-last in the NHL. Last season, Seattle had the NHL’s 5th-worst goalscoring and 9th-worst goal prevention. This season, Seattle is in a playoff spot over a third of the way into the season, and has been the league’s 8th-best scoring team. Jared McCann has been a key part of this strong start. McCann leads the Kraken with 14 goals. He plays over 16 minutes per game on the team’s top line and 2nd power play. He has 2 goals in his last 3 games against strong Lightning and Jets teams. The Kraken are a decent favorite in this game. McCann and his top line of Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle should be heavily involved in a Kraken win.
The Blues enter with 4 consecutive wins as part of a 5-1-1 run. That sounds good. But if the Blues have showed anything this season, it is that they are one of the least consistent teams in the NHL. Their goal prevention and penalty kill have improved, but still rank 26th and 29th respectively. They still have a -15 goal differential. That is how bad they have been on the defensive side of the puck. The Blues cannot be relied on to sustain any level of strong play. Not yet, at least. Seattle is -175 outright tonight, and this season when the Blues lose, they lose big. If the Kraken can muster 3+ goals, leading scorer Jared McCann has a good chance to get involved.
