While just 6 teams are suited up on Wednesday, there is plenty of value on the board to have skin in the game and something to root for. Just 1 team on the 3-game slate is in a playoff spot, and just by a single point over another team on the slate. With these ckubs looking to make moves in the standings a third of the way through the season, these 3 games will have plenty of intensity. If you are looking to have some action, here are our favorite NHL player props for Wednesday.

Alex DeBrincat anytime goal scorer (+125)
The Senators are playing good hockey lately with a 6-2-1 record in their last 9 games. Alex DeBrincat has been a key part of that recent success. He has points in 8 of those 9 games and in 9 of Ottawa’s last 10 overall. DeBrincat has scored 3 goals in his last 2 games, most recently a 2-goal performance against the Ducks on Monday. He logs more than 19 minutes of ice time while playing on the second line with Drake Batherson and Shane Pinto, as well as on the top powerplay unit with Brady Tkachuk, Claude Giroux and Thomas Chabot. DeBrincat is producing on a team that is in good form. Facing an opponent that ranks bottom third in the NHL in goal prevention gives him a decent chance to get on the board.
DeBrincat’s 4 goals and 6 assists in his last 10 games has included strong opponents. He has tallied at least a point against the Golden Knights, Kings twice, Rangers twice and Stars. In tight games against solid teams, the Senators’ top players have been logging the majority of the ice time and are leaned on to produce. These teams are not separated by much right now in terms of overall success this season and among league rankings in several statistical categories. The over is favored tonight and with plenty of goals expected, DeBrincat has as good of a chance as anyone on the ice to light the lamp as 1 of 6+ total goals.

Filip Hronek Over 2.5 shots on goal (+120)
The Red Wings have taken a major step forward this season and defenseman Filip Hronek has been a big part of it. He is off to by far his best start in his 5th season on Detroit with 24 points and a +11 rating in 28 games. He has logged 10 powerplay points and 2.32 shots on goal per game. In Hronek’s last 7 games he has tallied 18 shots on goal for 2.57 per game. Detroit faced tough teams over those 7 games, including Vegas, Tampa Bay, Florida, Dallas and Carolina. Hronek logs the second-most ice time per game on the Red Wings by 3 seconds on average behind Moritz Seider. He also has the 4th-most shots on goal on the team and 2nd-most offensive point shares. Hronek is a vital piece of this Red Wings team that will have plenty of chances to generate offense.
The Wild are playing great hockey right now. They have won 8 out of their last 11 games and the total has gone over in 8 of their last 10 games. The over is favored again on Wednesday, and this pure matchup has the makings of a high-scoring affair. In that case, Hronek will continue to log heavy minutes to contain Minnesota’s top players as well as move the puck north and help generate offense. In a game in which Detroit may have to be more aggressive and take some chances on the offensive side of the puck, its top players will be leaned on to get the puck to the net as often as possible. Look for Hronek to continue to produce chances from the back end.
