The Panthers are one of a few teams in the NHL who have underachieved based on last season’s results and preseason expectations. Despite underachieving, they find themselves just 4 points out of a playoff spot. There are valuable points available tonight and Florida has a very favorable matchup from which to collect them. The Panthers have played the Canadiens once this season, winning 7-2. The Panthers are playing with more urgency than at any point this season led by Barkov.

This packed Thursday night slate is capped off by a great game in Seattle. Devils vs Kraken should be a very good game between a couple of in-form teams. One strength these teams have in common that has been key to their respective success is goalscoring and this has the makings of a high-scoring game. In that case, there should be production from key contributors. Lately, Dawson Mercer has been one of the key contributors for the Devils. He has 6 points in his last 5 games which included 3 presumed playoff teams. The Devils are playing great hockey and Mercer is right in the mix as he has been from the first drop of the puck this season.
