After a wild weekend with 22 games the past 2 days, we have a rather relaxing Monday night in the NHL. We have just 3 games on the board, but plenty of implications in each one. That will be the case each night for the last 2 weeks of the regular season. One of those matchups is the last game of the night in the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Kraken are hosting the Arizona Coyotes, as they look to solidify their playoff spot. That’s where we’re headed with our favorite player prop for today’s action, so let’s dive in.

Vince Dunn Over 0.5 assists (-130)
There have been several surprise stories this NHL season, but one could argue that the most shocking is the improvement of the Kraken. They just had their inaugural season as a franchise last year and were fighting for a Pacific Division title at times this season. While that’s out of the question at this point, they do still appear to be playoff bound. They should be able to inch closer to securing that postseason berth with a game against the Coyotes tonight. Arizona has been one of the weakest teams in the NHL for a while now. Surprisingly enough, these teams have yet to face each other all season.
Still, Seattle defeated them in their most recent matchup, and they’ve drastically improved since then. One of the primary reasons for their strong 2023 campaign has been the play of Vince Dunn. While not a household name, the defenseman is leading the team in points with 64. He also boasts a +27 plus-minus; in other words, more good things than bad things happen when he’s on the ice. In fact, he’s virtually always on the ice; he averages just under 25 minutes per game. Dunn also had a 12-game point streak throughout most of March. Even after it was snapped, he went on to record a point in the next 3 straight. Now facing a struggling Arizona squad on home ice, I expect him to start up a new streak tonight.
