We’re in store for yet another fantastic, albeit small, Wednesday slate of NHL contests again today. There are a number of interesting matchups, and it seems like the intensity is rising more and more with each game nearing the all-star break. I’ve grown accustomed to dishing out NHL parlay picks this season, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing here again in this article. You can also read our individual NHL picks for tonight’s big games.
Jets ML (+110)
Hurricanes vs Bruins over 6 (+100)
Avalanche -1.5 (+100)
NHL parlay odds: +740
Winnipeg Jets ML over Toronto Maple Leafs (+110)
We’ll start with a battle between two Canadian franchises when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets have lost just twice in their last 10 games and those 2 losses came against the Flyers and Bruins, 2 teams right in the thick of the playoff picture. The Leafs haven’t been so fortunate, with just 2 victories in their last 7 tries. This is terrific value for a matchup that catches the squads on opposite ends of the spectrum.
Toronto’s bread and butter has been their offense this season, as they’re actually one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Recently though, that offense hasn’t been there, which is the main reason for this skid. Aiding our case is the fact that Winnipeg is a spectacular 14-5-2 on the road this season, whereas the Maple Leafs are just 10-9-2 at home.

Carolina Hurricanes vs Boston Bruins Over 6 (+100)
Elsewhere, the Carolina Hurricanes prepare for a tough test against the Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins. This is actually tougher than it may seen to predict who will win this one, as neither team has been playing all that bad of late. Where we can capitalize on this matchup is through the game total, with both squads ranking inside the NHL’s top 10 in terms of goals per game.
The Hurricanes have been just average defensively this season, and while the Bruins have been very good overall, they’re letting up nearly 3 goals per game in their last 10 contests. Speaking of their last 10, the over has been the result in 7 of those games for Boston, and the same can be said for Carolina for 6 of theirs. Finally, the over holds a 3-1 record in the Canes’ last 4 road outings, and a 6-2 record in the Bruins last 8 home bouts.

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 over Washington Capitals (+100)
I’ll cap off my picks with what shapes up to be a fairly easy win for the Colorado Avalanche at home against the Washington Capitals. Aside from the fact that the game is being played in Colorado, Washington being on the second leg of a back-to-back on the road is just a recipe for disaster. They already own one of the worst offenses in the league, and now they could be gassed before this one even ends.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Avalanche have won each of their last 4 contests by at least 2 goals. Conversely, in 4 of the Capitals’ last 5 losses, the margin of defeat has been greater than 1. From a sheer talent, cohesiveness and statistical perspective, the Avs should win this one easily. Add in all the other factors and this may be my favorite play of the entire night.
