NHL Parlay Picks (2/13)

Senators -1.5 (+114)

Canucks ML & Under 6 (+138)

Red Wings vs Oilers Under 6.5 (+105)

NHL parlay odds: +944

Ottawa Senators -1.5 over Columbus Blue Jackets (+114)

The Blue Jackets and Senators have trended in opposite directions lately. Columbus enters this game having dropped 8 of their last 11 games, as well as 14 of their last 20 games on the road. Things have looked a bit better for Ottawa, which has won 5 of their last 7 games and 6 of their last 9. The Senators are on a 3-game winning streak in which they beat solid opponents. In the past week, Ottawa has beaten Nashville, Detroit and Toronto. It may be too little too late in terms of making the NHL playoffs, but for now, the Senators are playing good hockey and should be able to run up the score against the struggling Blue Jackets.

Vancouver Canucks ML over Chicago Blackhawks & Under 6 (+138)

This is a lopsided matchup no matter how you slice it. The Canucks sit atop the NHL while the Blackhawks sit in the cellar. Vancouver has won 11 of their last 15 games, 7 of their last 10 on the road and their last 6 straight against Chicago. Unless the Canucks completely mail it in, they should comfortably take care of business against the Blackhawks.

Supplementing a Canucks win with the under brings good value to this game and pick. The under has hit in 12 of the Blackhawks’ last 16 games, as well as in 4 of their last 6 played at home. Chicago scores the fewest goals per game in the NHL and Vancouver allows the 4th-fewest goals per game in the league. That combination bodes well for another low total.

Detroit Red Wings vs Edmonton Oilers Under 6.5 (+105)

Despite plenty of offensive talent in this game, the under has been rolling for both the Red Wings and Oilers lately. The under has hit in 8 of the Red Wings’ last 12 games. The total has also gone under in 12  of the Oilers’ last 13 games and in their last 6 played at home.

These teams have met once this season in a game that ended with a total of 5 goals. Trends indicate a similar result this time around. Both offensively talented teams have played against other sharpshooting teams in their respective unders streaks as well, so they are not merely shutting down bad teams and keeping the totals low. Recently, goal prevention is what has worked for these teams so they likely won’t deviate from that plan.
