I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Tonight’s 7-game NHL slate features some interesting matchups, several of which seem to be what you could consider mismatches. With that in mind, it can be a night where it’s more difficult to find value in comparison to other nights. However, that’s what we’re here to help with! After breaking down the matchups on deck, we’ve pieced together our favorite spots to deliver our best NHL parlay picks for an incredible payout! Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL predictions for today’s action.

NHL Parlay Picks (1/23)

Stars -1.5 (+155)

Lightning 3-way ML (+140)

Senators vs. Canadiens Over 6.5 (-145)

NHL parlay odds: +934

Dallas Stars -1.5 over Detroit Red Wings (+155)

The first leg of our NHL parlay picks is perhaps our best bet of the entire night. We’re going to be backing a road team, but for good reason. The Dallas Stars are a team with expectations to compete with the Colorado Avalanche for the Central Division title, while the Red Wings are simply trying to get back to the postseason. Detroit is a young team, and while they’ve impressed thus far, we expect Dallas with a potentially healthy Jake Oettinger back between the pipes to be too much.

After all, the Stars have won 6 straight over the Wings and 9 of the last 10 meetings. The most recent 2 were by at least 3 goals, which includes a game just last month. Even if Oettinger isn’t back in net, Dallas recently won a road game 6-2 over a strong New Jersey Devils squad. Both the Stars and Wings can find the back of the net, so don’t be surprised to see both teams score, but Dallas has the superior defense. So, we’ll get our NHL parlay picks started with one of the first games of the night and back the Stars to win by multiple goals.

Tampa Bay Lightning 3-way ML over Philadelphia Flyers (+140)

We’re going to stick with the earlier games and head to Philly with the Flyers hosting the most recent dynasty — the Tampa Bay Lightning. Of course, no one would deny that they may be on the tail end of their run, but don’t let all the numbers fool you. Steven Stamkos and company were without all-world goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy to start the season, so they’re currently working their way back from that slow start.

Tampa is 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and has loved facing the Flyers. They’ve won 5 of their last 6 games against Philly, and they’ve been convincing. Their 4 most recent victories came by scores of 5-2, 4-1, 7-1 and 4-0. Each of those were by at least 3 goals and we only need them to win in regulation tonight. Therefore, the second leg of our NHL parlay picks is for Tampa to get the job done within 60 minutes.

Ottawa Senators vs Montreal Canadiens Over 6.5 (-145)

Our final pick is also in the early slate of games, so we’re not making you waste any time in a potentially mega payout. It may not be the marquee matchup of the night, but we’re going to take advantage of this Atlantic Division rivalry. It’s been quite some time since these Canadian squads were dominant, and while that may still be the case, they can still produce some fireworks.

Firstly, Montreal just allowed a ridiculous 9 goals in their most recent game. Although that was against a fantastic Boston Bruins team, the Senators can score themselves. In fact, the Canadiens game just prior to the Bruins game was against Ottawa, where they allowed 6 goals. The Sens also scored another 5 goals on Sunday night, so they’ve kept that trend going. Most importantly for our purposes, they have the 7th-best record in the NHL in terms of going over the total. So, we’ll close out our NHL parlay picks with a high-scoring game in Montreal.
