We can still count on one hand how many times we have gotten to experience the entire NHL in action on a single day, but we can add one more to the list after today! All 32 teams take the ice, and the games get started at 1:00 pm ET. That means plenty of matchups to break down — almost an overwhelming amount, to be fair. Not to worry; I have picked out my favorite spots and pieced them together for our best NHL parlay picks for today for a huge payout.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Buffalo Sabres Over 7 (+105)
It’s not quite the first puck drop of the day, but in the second window of afternoon games we have a matchup in Buffalo. In fact, it’s going on immediately following the Steelers vs. Bills Wild Card matchup in the NFL. Regardless, I’m focused on a high-scoring affair. That has generally been a theme for the Sabres the past couple of seasons, and this year specifically, and even more so for the Canucks. They have bounced back from a down season last year and are leading the entire NHL in goals per game.
That’s right…more than the Maple Leafs, Avalanche, Oilers and the like. The Canucks aren’t just scoring a lot in general, either; they are surpassing expectations. Oddsmakers clearly can’t figure them out, as Vancouver has the 2nd-best record in terms of going over the total this season. We should only need a couple of goals from the Sabres, and they have scored 16 goals over their last 4 games. This matchup should provide some fireworks leading into the evening slate, making a high-scoring game the first leg of the parlay.
Ottawa Senators -1.5 (+100) over San Jose Sharks
Before even diving into my next pick, I fully admit that it is far from the featured matchup on this jam-packed day on NHL action. However, I’m not going to pass up value when I see it. At this point, even the most casual of fans know that the Sharks are having a historically poor season. They were able to snap their 12-game losing streak earlier this week but I’m expecting that confidence to come crashing back to Earth. The Senators aren’t exactly world-beaters, themselves. In fact, these 2 teams allow the most goals per game.
As such, we can expect another high-scoring game on Saturday. It should be one with plenty of goals, but one which Ottawa gets the job done. The Senators are the ones looking to snap a losing streak, and the discrepancy in offense should make the difference. While both teams can’t keep the opposition from scoring, the Sens are at least approaching top 10 in terms of goals scored per game. Meanwhile, the Sharks have sunk to the bottom of the league in that category — mustering up a measly 2 goals per game.
Boston Bruins -1.5 (+150) over St. Louis Blues
My final pick features an inter-conference matchup between 2 teams with playoff hopes. Well, for the Bruins it’s more like Stanley Cup Final hopes. They suffered a rare defeat on Thursday night, but they still have the most points in the entire Eastern Conference. It also came against the reigning-champion Vegas Golden Knights, and it was decided in overtime. With the Blues trading off some key pieces last season and not improving their goaltending in the offseason, they are performing better than expected.
However, Boston is simply on another tier. The Bruins are a fringe top-10 scoring team while also allowing the 5th-fewest goals per game; the Blues struggle to find the back of the net, scoring the 7th-fewest goals per game. St. Louis also lacks the physicality that it was once known for, and when facing a pest like Bruins captain Brad Marchand that is not ideal. Look for the biggest difference to be made on the powerplay. Boston is the 5th-most efficient in that regard, while St. Louis is the 2nd-worst.
