This week in the NHL starts hot with some fantastic matchups. There are 6 games on the schedule highlighted by the Lightning visiting the Avalanche. Other potentially great games include Sabres vs Rangers and Panthers vs Senators. With some competitive matchups and plenty of star players suiting up, there is some great betting value on the board. This should be a great day of hockey, and you can make it even more intriguing by checking out our NHL mega parlay at +862 odds below. Bruins -1.5 (-105)

Capitals -1.5 (+124)

Boston Bruins -1.5 over Columbus Blue Jackets (-105)
The Bruins got their lunch handed to them on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. With their 7-4 loss to the Rangers, the Bruins gave way to New York for the top spot in the NHL standings. Look for Boston to come out with some jam on Monday to bounce back from that rough loss. Boston is the better team in this game. Make no mistake about it. Unless they plain have another off-game or mail it in, they should take care of business against a bad team just fine. Columbus’ 16 points are tied for the least in the Eastern Conference and they have allowed 5+ goals in 3 out of their last 4 games. This one should be all Bruins.

Tampa Bay Lightning ML over Colorado Avalanche (+120)
This one is looking set to be a great game. Both teams are playing great hockey right now. The Lightning carry good value at +120 for the money line. What looks a tad bit better for the Lightning in this one is the quality of opponents they have played lately. Tampa has won 4 out of their last 5 games. Their only loss was 3-2 to a great Winnipeg team. Otherwise, across those wins, the Lightning outscored the Blackhawks, Oilers, Bruins and Hurricanes a combined 23-12. The Avalanche have not played quite the same quality of opponents as the Lightning over the past couple of weeks, and I’m expecting the battle-tested Tampa Bay to give Colorado all it can handle. Take the Lightning to take care of business in this one.
Washington Capitals -1.5 over San Jose Sharks (+124)
The Capitals have been a pleasant surprise lately. After a slow start to the season on the back of low expectations entering the season, the Capitals find themselves 10-5-2. Their 22 points are good for 3rd in the Metropolitan division and 8th in a stacked Eastern Conference. Washington enters this game 5-1 in their last 6 games and 9-2-1 in their last 12. The Sharks, meanwhile, are the NHL’s worst team. They are firmly in a rebuild and their season has reflected as much. They are 4-15-2 and their 10 points are the fewest in the NHL. This is a lopsided game in favor of the Capitals. Even with a -1.5 puck line, getting +124 odds is great value.
