Week 15 of the NFL season begins with Thursday Night Football between the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders. Both teams are 5-8, so whoever loses will be completely out of the AFC wild-card race and whoever wins will remain in contention – albeit still on life support. Needless to say, it’s a huge showdown between division rivals.

The Pickswise team has been on fire with their touchdown scorer prop picks throughout this 2023 NFL campaign, so let’s keep the momentum going! Here are my best TD scorer bets for Chargers vs Raiders, and also be sure to check out our full Chargers vs Raiders predictions.

Quentin Johnston, WR, LAC (+600 at FanDuel)

It is true that Easton Stick – yes, Easton Stick – will be throwing the ball to Johnston on Thursday night. However, the prospects are not all bad for the former TCU product even though starting quarterback Justin Herbert is out. Like Johnston, Stick is a young, unproven player. What better way to start getting comfortable in the NFL than by igniting some chemistry between QB and WR? Stick would be wise to do so by targeting Johnston a whole bunch of times on Thursday – especially since WR1 Keenan Allen has surprisingly been ruled out for this contest.

Johnston has by no means been setting the world on fire as a rookie, but he has delivered his 2 best performances in the past 2 weeks: 5 receptions on 7 targets for 52 yards followed by a career-high 91 yards last weekend. Especially of note is that 79 of those 91 yards came after Stick replaced Herbert under center. At +600, Johnston has awesome value to keep the momentum going.

Josh Jacobs, RB, LV (+130 at DraftKings)

The Raiders’ offense was a complete disaster last week, as they suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss to the Vikings. After something like that happens, you have only 1 option: turn to your best player early and often. Interim head coach Antonio Pierce has to take the ball out of Aidan O’Connell’s hands and put it in those of Jacobs. The Alabama product has found the endzone 6 times this year, and all 6 have come in the last 10 games. This stretch includes 4 scores in the past 6 outings. Jacobs now faces a Los Angeles defense that has allowed 14 touchdowns on the ground in 2023. Only 6 teams in the NFL have surrendered more. If Las Vegas manages to produce any offense on Thursday (unlike last weekend!), I expect it to come from Jacobs.
