It’s Wednesday night in the NBA Playoffs and we have only 2 games on the docket today. The Miami Heat are +14.5 underdogs after a very uncompetitive Game 1 in Boston. I’m hoping the 3 days of rest served them well. The late slate is a much more competitive matchup with the Pelicans (+7.5) in Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder. Luguentz Dort did a masterful job of locking up Brandon Ingram in Game 1 and we’ll see if that continues. You can find out our NBA picks for each of those games, but for now, let’s get into my best NBA player prop bet for Wednesday, April 24.
Jayson Tatum (BOS) over 8.5 rebounds (-115)

This is an auto-bet for me at 8.5 in the playoffs. He had 10 rebounds in Game 1 on 12 rebound chances. Tatum also played the most minutes of any Celtic (41) in Game 1 by a wide margin. I think that’s likely due to their trusted depth in the backcourt (Pritchard, Hauser) and not as much in the frontcourt. Outside of Kristaps Porzingis, they have Al Horford and that’s about it.
After losing to Miami in the last postseason, I do not see Mazzulla taking any chances with Spoelstra and company, so let’s expect another night of 38+ minutes out of Tatum. My suspicion is that this line will be 9.5 by Game 3 or 4 depending on how tonight shakes out. Tatum’s average rebounding distance of 4.6 feet further supports the fact that he is entrenched as their “other forward” next to Porzingis or Horford. In the last postseason, Tatum hit this number in 15 of 20 games and 5 of 7 against Miami. 1.5u
