Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. There are 9 games on the NBA slate tonight for which I have picked out my favorite player prop selections. Of tonight’s action, it will be most interesting to see LeBron James make his return to Cleveland. With the Lakers disappointing so far this season, a win for them tonight would be a step back in the right direction.

You can see our full game previews here. But for now, let’s check out my 2 player prop selections.

Jalen Green over 16.5 points (-110)

Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets has been enjoying a great month so far in March. The rookie is averaging 19.9 points per game. As a result, he has been able to score at least 17 in 9 of the 11 games he has played. Green has been able to improve his efficiency this month, shooting at nearly 37% from beyond the arc and 49.4% from the field. That is up from his season averages of 41% and 32%, respectively.

The Wizards should be a favorable opponent for him. In the last 10 games they rank 28th in the league in defensive rating. As a result, guards have been able to have success against them. In recent games Nah’Shon Hyland, Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, and Josh Hart have all managed at least 17 points at their expense. Green should be able to join them tonight. He scored 22 points when the sides last met and looks to be in prime position to repeat this. Go with the over.

Herbert Jones over 11.5 points (+104)

Herbert Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans has been able to score at least 12 points in 4 of his last 6 games. Tonight he looks like a good value bet to do the same once more. This will be his second meeting against the Charlotte Hornets, having scored 12 against them the last time out. In the last 10 games, the Hornets are 27th in the NBA in opponent 3-pointers made. They are just 21st in the league in defensive rating during that stretch, too.

Jones is the type of player that thrives in the open floor, and he should get the chance to get out and run tonight. In the last 10 games the Hornets are 22nd in opponent fast-break points. Look for Jones get a couple of field goals in transition as a result. Mason Plumlee of the Hornets is not an intimidating shot-blocker, so Jones should be able to stay efficient tonight in the paint. Back the over.
