With the postponement of the Toronto Raptors and the Chicago Bulls matchup tonight, we are left with just 5 games on tonight’s NBA slate. However, there are still important games at hand as the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics will look to separate themselves from a very crowded middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks will have a great chance of doing this against the Orlando Magic whilst the Celtics face a much tougher opponent in the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Jrue Holiday over 19.5 points (-116)
Jrue Holiday has stepped up for the Milwaukee Bucks in the absence of key players, especially Giannis Antetokounmpo. In the month of December, he has surpassed the 20-point mark in 6 of the 10 games. Over the last 3 games that Antetokounmpo has missed, he exceeded the total on each occasion. In his last game against the Pelicans, Holiday dropped 40 points despite shooting just 1-of-8 from the 3-point line. The 36 field goals he attempted in that game were a season high. Look for him to keep that level of aggression tonight against a Houston Rockets team that has been leaking points. They have allowed opponents to score 120 or more in 3 of their last 5 games. Lonzo Ball dropped 19 of the Chicago Bulls’ 133 in the Rockets’ last outing. With the aggressiveness Holiday has been showing, he should be able to surpass that.
Matchups wise he is likely to see time tonight against Eric Gordon and Armoni Brooks. Gordon has failed to establish himself as strong defender as he currently ranks 357th of 501 NBA players in defensive rating. If Holiday can consistently attack him off the bounce, he should have no issue getting to the rim tonight. The Rockets also have Christian Wood questionable, which could take away they leading shot blocker. With less resistance at the rim, Holiday should be in for another 20-point performance on Wednesday.
