We have a 6 game NBA slate tonight as much of the betting world will focus on the National Championship game, but there are still a few good matchups tonight to key on. The Milwaukee Bucks traveling to New York to take on the Knicks, winners of 4 straight games. Lastly, the Lakers have won 3 straight games and are +10 points underdogs against the Denver Nuggets on the road.

Much speculation is being made about comments LeBron James may have made inferring changes need to be made to the Lakers roster. Regardless of what they do at the trade deadline, the Lakers are 6-1 over their last 7 games and LeBron looks the closest we’ve seen to Cavalier-Lebron in over 4 years. He is signaling to Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss that he can still carry the load but needs just a little more help to do so.

Malcolm Brogdon (BOS) over 24.5 PRA (-125)

Line available on DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

Marcus Smart is out tonight as the Chicago Bulls (+8.5) travels to Boston to take on the Celtics. Brogdon will still come off the bench but should see starting minutes and be on the floor to finish the game. In the last two games that Smart missed, Brogdon logged 32 and 29 minutes. In those games he had 29 and 27 PRA. The Bulls are run smaller lineups that should allow Brogdon more opportunities to grab rebounds than he normally would and have allowed the 2nd most OPP 3P made per game (13.7) all season. This should not only help Brogdon in the scoring column but assists as well. Since January, Brogdon has logged 2 more mpg than Derrick White. yet still logs the same 7 potential assists per game. I expect that number to increase tonight in Smart’s absence. 1U

Paolo Banchero (ORL) over 22.5 points (-113)

Line available on FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

Banchero travels to Sacramento tonight to face the team he had his best game of his career against. In early November, Banchero had 33 points on 14/26 shooting. The Kings are the ideal matchup for someone like Banchero. They’re allowing free throw attempts on nearly 25% of possessions over the last 3 games (8th worst) and are giving up the 10th most points in the paint at home this season. Their frontcourt is simply no match for Banchero in his low post play as Harrison Barnes and Sabonis should struggle, along with putting Banchero on the FT line with frequency. Banchero is averaging 26.7 PPG in January and has hit this in 3 the last 6 road games. I’m also high on Orlando pulling off the upset tonight in Sacramento. 1U

Quentin Grimes (NYK) over 12.5 Points (-110)

Line available on FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

RJ Barrett is doubtful tonight for the Knicks home matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks and that is good news for the Quentin Grimes fans of the world. In Barrett’s absence, Grimes has averaged 14 points per game and that includes a 1 for 10, 9-point performance against the Spurs. The Bucks are giving up the 3rd most PPG to opposing SGs over the last 7 games and I attribute that largely to Jrue Holiday’s absence combined with Allen/Connaughton struggling on the perimeter. Holiday is back in the lineup but playing only 19min the last 2 games. 1U
