The first month of the 2023-24 NBA season produced some terrific action, with high-profile primetime matchups galore and exciting upsets across the league. The season continues on Wednesday and the action features a number of compelling matchups, including Warriors vs Suns, Mavericks vs Lakers and more! A massive slate of NBA hoops tonight definitely calls for an NBA mega parlay. Below are my plays for Wednesday, and also be sure to check out all of our NBA picks for all of tonight’s matchups.
Warriors ML (+110)
Clippers -8.5 (-110)
Lakers ML (+122)
NBA parlay odds: +790
For this parlay, we are going with two underdogs on the money line and a favorite against the spread. Let’s break down each of the legs.
Golden State Warriors ML over Phoenix Suns (+110)
These teams played on opening night, with the Suns sneaking out a 4-point win on the road at Chase Center. That alone should be a motivating factor for the Warriors, as going down 2-0 in the regular-season series is something they’d definitely want to avoid. On the other side, it’s hard to criticize a team when they win by 13 points, but the Suns let down a lot of people by failing to cover the spread against the lowly Portland Trail Blazers last night. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker each had productive nights for the Suns, who connected on 56% of their field-goal attempts. They’ll be counting on the dynamic duo once again to take them home, especially knowing that Draymond Green is still suspended.
The issue for Phoenix is the Suns also have players missing with Bradley Beal and Damion Lee both being out, while Yuta Watanabe is questionable with a quad injury. Coming off 4 straight wins, the Suns enter this one as the favorites, but they will be playing their second game in less than 24 hours. It has been a while since the wounded Warriors had a statement victory, but they could prove a lot of people wrong if they can take down the Suns on the road. I have faith in Stephen Curry, who always shows up when things get tight.
Los Angeles Clippers -8.5 over San Antonio Spurs (-110)
Things are finally starting to click for the Clippers as they’ve won 2 games in a row over Houston and the Spurs. Tonight, they face San Antonio again in a rematch of Monday’s clash which ended in a 124-99 victory for Los Angeles. Paul George led all scores with 28 points, but more importantly the Clippers got 2 players off the bench to score 19 apiece in Daniel Theis and Norman Powell. With that kind of attitude the Clippers could go a long way this season and they are in a prime position to sweep the regular-season series from the Spurs after winning the first 2 meetings by a combined total of 65 points.
With 9 losses in a row, the San Antonio Spurs are at the bottom of the standings in their division and tied with the Blazers for the worst record in the Western Conference. This is their 5th-longest losing streak in franchise history, and the loss against the Clippers the other day was their 6th double-digit loss this season. Victor Wembanyama is still searching for consistency and although he has upped his scoring average compared to last month, he has failed to crack the 10-point mark twice in his last 4 games. In games played at Frost Bank Center, San Antonio is just 2-6 ATS this season and against the Clippers they’ve won only once in the last 7 meetings there. All losing streaks must come to an end at some point, but tonight is not likely to be the night for the Spurs.

Los Angeles Lakers ML over Dallas Mavericks (+122)
After a superb start to the season, the Dallas Mavericks have let their guard down a little and find themselves now with 3 losses in their last 4 games. Defense has been a major issue as they’ve allowed 129, 132, 117, 131 and 124 points in their last 5 games. Conversely, the atmosphere around the Lakers is pretty good following the 131-99 win over Utah last night which secured them top spot in Group A of the In-Season Tournament. Anthony Davis had a productive night with 26 points and 16 rebounds, while playing just 29 minutes. LeBron James played only 24 minutes and had a modest 17 points and 9 assists.
Los Angeles has won 3 games in a row, but enters tonight’s game as a slight underdog at home. Maybe that has to do with the Lakers being without 3 important rotation players in Jarred Vanderbilt (heel), Cam Reddish (groin) and Gabe Vincent (knee), but I don’t see that being too big of a factor against this Mavericks defense anyway. Normally I would lean slightly towards the more rested team in this scenario, but none of the Lakers starters logged more than 31 minutes last night. The Mavs just aren’t getting any stops and they’re ranked 24th in opponent points per game on the season. LA has allowed just 99.3 points per game in its 3 most recent games. We’ll take the Lakers on the money line in this contest.
