Philadelphia 76ers -5 over Charlotte Hornets (-110)

Although they are already eliminated from the Emirates NBA Cup, the 76ers still have a lot to play for as they try to rescue their season. At 4-14, they have the 2nd-worst record in the Eastern Conference, but the 10th seed and a spot in the play-in tournament is just 3 games away, so the season can still be saved. They’re playing a Hornets team that’s lost 5 in a row and is currently without its best player in LaMelo Ball.

Scoring the ball has been a major issue for Charlotte. as they’ve failed to crack the 100-point mark in 3 of their last 4 games, and they might not have enough to keep up with the offensively more talented Sixers. Joel Embiid will not be playing here, but Tyrese Maxey and Paul George are expected to suit up. Philly just put up 111 against the Pistons in a 15-point road win so I expect them to take this game very seriously and inflict the Hornets their 6th straight loss. Philadelphia is 11-1 in their last 12 visits to Charlotte and is currently on a 7-game win streak in head-to-head meetings.

Milwaukee Bucks -3.5 over Detroit Pistons (-110)

Milwaukee has been hot lately, winning 6 straight games. Although their schedule has been somewhat soft during this streak, we cannot overlook just how good Giannis Antetokounmpo has looked carrying this team. He’s averaging 32.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game on almost 60% shooting, while playing under 35 minutes per game. The last time he played Detroit, Giannis dropped a 59-14-7 line on almost 62% from the field.

Consistency has eluded the Pistons who have exchanged wins and losses in their last 4 games and they have just 2 wins in their last 7 games. Cade Cunningham has played really well lately, getting his teammates involved while racking up double-digit assists in 6 straight games. But the Pistons will likely need much more than just Cunningham to get past Milwaukee. The Pistons’ three-point defense when playing at home is 4th-worst in the NBA in terms of opponent efficiency from downtown. Expect the Bucks to pick up the road win.

San Antonio Spurs ML over Phoenix Suns (+190)

With 5 wins in 6 games, the Spurs are currently on one of their best runs of the season. Victor Wembanyama cannot be stopped, as he just became the youngest center in NBA history to record a 30-point triple-double in a big win over the Kings on the road. That was San Antonio’s 2nd straight road victory as they’ve just put up 127 on the Kings and 128 points on the Jazz. With Jusuf Nurkic out of the lineup for Phoenix, Wembanyama should have a much easier time dominating down low.

The Suns could also be without Bradley Beal, who is questionable due to a calf issue. Although they just beat the Warriors at home, the Suns are just 2-6 over their last 8 games. Covering the spread in these matchups has been tough for Phoenix, as they’ve done so just once in 7 home games against San Antonio. A win here guarantees the Spurs top spot in Group B of the Emirates NBA Cup, and for a young player like Wembanyama, that alone should be enough of a motivating factor to do well here. Let’s go with the Spurs to pull off the upset to wrap up our NBA parlay picks for today.
