Saturday was really productive for us here at Pickswise, as we managed to land our NBA Parlay at +666 odds and my +574 odds Lakers vs Knicks Same Game Parlay! Sunday’s 9-game slate gives us a perfect opportunity to close out the week on a high note, I’ve prepared yet another NBA Mega Parlay which you can find below.
Don’t forget to also check out our NBA picks for Sunday’s action.
Now let’s dive into my bet!
LA Clippers -4 (-112)
HOU Rockets ML (+240)
Over 220 Total Points in Blazers vs Nuggets (-110)
NBA Mega Parlay odds: +1174
Los Angeles Clippers -4 over Miami Heat (-112)
Kawhi Leonard is putting up 24.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on 53% from the field, 45% from the free throw line and almost 89% from the charity stripe and the Clippers are just a game away from the 1st seed in the West. The Clippers are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and have beaten Miami in 7 of those games. Center Ivica Zubac has also been upgraded to questionable as he recovers from a calf injury. If he’s able to play here, the Heat could have serious issues scoring the basketball, especially in the paint as that’s where Zubac operates the most as a big man.
Miami just recently ended a 7-game losing streak with back-to-back home wins over Sacramento and Washington. Being just 3 games over the .500 mark has the Heat only 7th in the East, far from what their season expectations were at the beginning of the year. This just isn’t a good match-up for Miami. They’ve failed to cover the spread in the last 6 meetings at home. Leonard and Paul George should have their way with the Heat wings, I don’t see how the Heat handle those two on the other end, plus then there’s James Harden. The Clippers just have too much for Miami to handle right now.
Houston Rockets ML over Minnesota Timberwolves (+240)
Looking for a potential upset for our Mega Parlay, I realized that the Houston Rockets might actually have the best chance of doing so out of all the Sunday underdogs. Minnesota did win the first meeting of the season, however the Rockets have showed a lot of promise lately splitting their last 8 games. In those 4 wins their lowest point total was 127 points, they went over the 130 point mark 3 times, proving that they can score at a high level when things go their way.
Minnesota has struggled offensively in the past week or so, apart from their win against the shorthanded Mavs, they’ve gone over 107 points just once in 4 of their last 5 games. They’re coming off a home loss to the Orlando Magic, last weekend we also saw them lose to one of the worst teams in the NBA the Spurs 113-112 on the road. Rudy Gobert is also questionable to play here, without a solid defender to throw at Alperen Sengun, I think there’s a possibility the Timberwolves might struggle here. The Rockets have covered in 4 of their last 5 games overall, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and go for a road win here.
Portland Trail Blazers vs Denver Nuggets Over 220 (-110)
The Blazers and Nuggets will clash for the 2nd time in 48 hours, on Friday Denver came out on top 120-108 for their 8th win in the last 10 meetings. During that stretch we’ve seen the two teams combine to average 231.9 points per game and the over cashing a total of 7 times. The projected total has been set at a surprisingly low 220 points here, I think that’s mainly due to Jerami Grant potentially missing this game for Portland.
Even without him, I don’t think the over should come into question here. In 5 games when Grant doesn’t play, Portland has cleared the 220 point mark 4 times. Both teams are also hitting the three-ball at a high level, scoring at least 10 of them in back-to-back games. Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson just had 30 points off the bench in Friday’s game, he will be highly motivated to repeat that performance tonight against the defending champions. Let’s back the over in this one.
