The NBA season continues on Sunday with a relatively small 5-game slate. Obviously the NFL takes center stage as the weekend wraps up, but don’t forget about the hardwood. It’s an intriguing schedule with the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks among the teams in action.

Below is my mega parlay for Sunday, and also be sure to check out all of our NBA picks.

Pistons ML (+195)

Warriors ML (+105)

Trail Blazers ML (+120)

NBA parlay odds: +1230

For this parlay we are going with 3 underdogs on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Detroit Pistons ML over Phoenix Suns (+195)

So far the Suns have failed to live up to preseason expectations, mainly because of injuries. Bradley Beal hasn’t taken the floor yet and Devin Booker has been dealing with an ankle issue. Without that pair, there has been a sizable load on Kevin Durant’s shoulders. Compounding problems is the fact that Phoenix is on the road and on the second night of a back-to-back situation. The Detroit Pistons’ roster is much closer to full strength, so they have a legitimate chance to pull off the upset. The likes of Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and Marvin Bagley III are all likely to cause issues for new Phoenix center Jusuf Nurkic. That size has helped the Pistons rank third league wide in rebounding percentage. Their ability to control the glass also has them 11th in defensive rating. Against a fatigued opponent, look for the Pistons to win the rebounding battle – and the game, too.

Golden State Warriors ML over Cleveland Cavaliers (+105)

Stephen Curry is straight up the NBA MVP through 2 weeks. The former Davidson College star is putting up huge numbers, especially on the road — where he is averaging 34.3 points, 6 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting better than 61 percent from the field and 53 percent from the land of plenty. Speaking of the road, the Warriors are 4-0 in such situations so far this season. That streak should be able to continue at the expense of an opponent Golden State has defeated 10 straight times (with 7 covers during this stretch). The Dubs have won their last 8 trips to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. At just 2-4 SU through the first 6 games, the Cleveland Cavaliers have underperformed up to this point. They are winless in 3 home games, so it’s fair to say that home-court “advantage” isn’t any kind of advantage at all in this particular matchup. Give me Golden State.

Portland Trail Blazers ML over Memphis Grizzlies (+120)

One year removed from a second-place finish in the Western Conference, the Memphis Grizzlies are 0-6 — the only winless team in the NBA. Much of that can be attributed to Ja Morant’s 25-game suspension and losing Steven Adams for the season, but whatever the case Memphis has yet to find its identity. The Grizzlies rank dead last in the NBA in offensive rating (102.9) and 20th in defensive rating (112.6), with their defensive flaws showing late in their loss to none other than the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Memphis was on the verge of its first win, up 10 points with just under 3:30 minutes to go, but Portland went on a 12-2 run to force overtime and ultimately win. For the Trail Blazers, that marked their third straight victory after dropping the first 3 games of 2023-24. Malcolm Brogdon, Jerami Grant and Shaedon Sharpe are all averaging more than 19 points per game, stepping up following the departure of Damian Lillard. This team is showing a lot of fight; Memphis is not.
