Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. In the regular season, I recorded 251 wins and 164 losses for a gain of +34 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Tuesday’s slate!

Zack Wheeler (PHI) over 15.5 outs (-115)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
The Philadelphia Phillies have arrived. Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola have been two of the best pitchers in the postseason. In 2 games, Wheeler has pitched 12 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. In Game 2 of the series against the Atlanta Braves, 1st baseman Rhys Hoskins made a critical fielding mistake with two outs that led to Wheeler being pulled after 6 innings. He threw 50 pitches through 5 innings and was well on his way to at least 7 innings before Hoskins’ blunder. Wheeler is on a full 5 days of rest and in a 7-game series, Phillies manager Rob Thompson will look to get all he can from his ace and steal Game 1 in San Diego.
The Padres are running hot into the NLCS. They made quick work of their rival Los Angeles Dodgers. They took three straight games and will have their ace on their mound in Yu Darvish. The Padres hit Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom and Chris Bassitt extremely well in their Wild Card series against the New York Mets. All 3 pitchers came into that series struggling, unlike Wheeler.
Wheeler should have no problem coasting through the bottom of the Padres’ order. Jake Cronenworth, Will Myers and Trent Grisham are a combined 2 for 18 in their career against Wheeler.
Wheeler is over this line in 9 of 11 games since the all-star break which includes when he was limited in multiple games due to forearm tendinitis that limited him in multiple starts. I have Wheeler projected at 6 innings and allowing the bullpen to close out the game.

Bryce Harper (PHI) over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-120)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
This seems to be a DraftKings exclusive, but I would play a half unit on Harper over 1.5 total bases at +125 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Harper is one of the hottest hitters coming into the Championship Series. He finished off the Braves series hitting 8 for 16 with 2 home runs and 5 runs batted in. Harper is always a threat to be issued a walk as well. In 6 at-bats against Yu Darvish, Harper is 1 for 6 with a home run which came this season.
Darvish allowed 3 solo home runs in the Padres’ Game 2 win against the Dodgers and has allowed 13 hits through his two postseason starts this season which includes six extra-base hits.
Harper is hitting .299 with five home runs, 14 runs batted in, and 16 runs scored in 21 games on the road against the Padres.
