Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. In the regular season, I recorded 250 wins and 162 losses for a gain of +35.50 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for day 4 of the MLB Divisional Series.

Tony Gonsolin (LAD) under 1.5 walks (-150)

Tony Gonsolin lit the baseball world on fire this season. After a subpar start to his career in Los Angeles, Gonsolin put together a CY Young caliber season. He recorded 16 wins and only one loss. His ERA of 2.14 would’ve been 2nd in baseball behind Justin Verlander if he qualified. Tonight, he takes the ball for the Dodgers in Game 3 against the San Diego Padres where he’ll have a pitch limit of 75 pitches.
In 12 innings pitched against the Padres this season, Gonsolin only issued one walk and had an ERA of .71. It is a tough task to ask for an opposing pitcher to limit his walks against the likes of Juan Soto and Manny Machado, but Gonsolin has walked neither of them in 17 combined plate appearances.
Gonsolin has pitched over 130 innings this season and issued 35 free passes. He’s stayed under this line in 15 of 24 starts including both starts against the Padres. This will be his 2nd start returning from injury. He pitched two innings against the Colorado Rockies less than two weeks ago and did not walk a batter.
