Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. In the regular season, I recorded 249 wins and 161 losses for a gain of +35 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for day 3 of the MLB Divisional Series.

Framber Valdez has been a workhorse for the Hoston Astros all season long. He has pitched at least 5 innings in 29 of 31 starts this season and in 27 straight. He will be leaned upon heavily today due to future AL CY Young Award winner Justin Verlander failing to give the Astros more than 4 innings on Tuesday.
Valdez has had his fair share of success against the Mariners this season. In 2 starts, he’s pitched into the 7th inning and eclipsed over 7 strikeouts. Against the likes of Julio Rodriguez, Eugenio Suarez and Ty France, he has a 42% K rate in 21 plate appearances. Dating back to the regular season, the Mariners let 8 of the last 10 left-handed starters reach their strikeout prop. That includes a 28% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching in October.
Valdez will be in line to throw up to 100 pitches today and will have his chance to can Mariners hitters. He’s gone over this line in 9 of his last 10 starts and 11 of 14 at home.
