Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. In the regular season, I recorded 249 wins and 160 losses for a gain of +36.35 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for day 2 of the MLB Divisional Series.

Yu Darvish (SDP) under 2.5 earned runs (-135)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Yu Darvish has been exceptional since September. In 7 starts, Darvish has allowed 9 earned runs in 46 innings. That includes a 7-inning shutout performance against his former team and opponent tonight in the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 4 starts against the top-seeded Dodgers this season, Darvish has a 2.52 ERA and has stayed under this line in 3 of those.
The Dodgers’ core hitters are familiar with Darvish. Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and Will Smith all hit below .200 with at least 14 plate appearances against the right-hander. Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman, like they have all season, crush right-handed pitching. Turner is hitting nearly .300 while Freeman is hitting righties at an average of .338. In their careers, the 2 are a combined 13 for 39 against Darvish. If Darvish can keep them off the base pads, he’ll be in line for a quality start.
It took a while for Darvish to find his groove on the road, but since the all-star break, he has stayed under this line in 8 of 10 starts, which includes 5 games against playoff teams.
