Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. In the regular season, I recorded 259 wins and 166 losses for a gain of +37.8 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Game 2 of the World Series!

Rhys Hoskins has been an integral part of the Philadelphia Phillies’ postseason run. He made his mark in Game 3 of the divisional series against the Atlanta Braves with a 3-run home run and an improbable bat flip. Tonight, in Game 2 of the World Series, he’ll match up against left-handed phenom Framber Valdez.
There’s no denying that Valdez has been sensational this season. He has a 2.82 ERA and was tied for 3rd in wins with 17 in the regular season. Right-handed batters see Valdez much better than lefties. Righties are hitting .229 compared to lefties, who are hitting .192. Teammates J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper are swinging the bat extremely well behind Hoskins which should result in him seeing some nice pitches.
Hoskins started out the postseason 1 for 18 but has come on strong lately and has been a huge catalyst of the Phillies success. He’s recorded a hit in 7 of his last 10 games with 5 home runs. He’s scored a run in 7 of his last 10 games hitting behind the Phillies loaded bats. If Hoskins can find himself on the base pads early with a base hit, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to score and cash this prop.
