Getting back into the swing of things after a long weekend is never easy. Especially after Memorial Day. But, MLB is giving us a 15-game slate tonight which will help matters. All we have to do is get through the day, then BAM, we’re betting baseball again. We only have to change our channels once tonight as Fox Sports 1 has the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians locking horns at 6.10pm. When they’re done, we can go over to MLB Network to check out the Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants at 9.40pm ET. MLB player props are an electric way to get down on these games, and I have two I like for tonight.

Michael Pineda over 5.5 strikeouts (+116)

Michael Pineda had about two weeks between starts before his last one which is always a concern. He answered any doubts about his readiness by striking out eight Orioles. Tonight, he gets the same Baltimore Orioles team again.
I generally don’t like taking a pitcher facing the same team in back-to-back starts but we can make an exception here. At this +116 price, Pineda is a deal. He’s topped this number in each of his last two starts, and he hasn’t had a game below five all season. He’s got a 26.7% strikeout rate on the season which is his best since 2016.
Tonight he’s getting a Baltimore Orioles squad that strikes out like it’s the thing to do. Over the past seven days, of all the teams that have only played six games, the Orioles have struck out the most. This feels like a great spot for Pineda even though Baltimore just saw him last week.

German Marquez over 5.5 strikeouts (-125)

We have choices when it comes to this bet. I opted for the 5.5 at DraftKings for -125 but Marquez is also available at BetMGM at 6.5 +120. Usually, I opt for the plus money line but I like the 5.5 better and the price is reasonable.
Marquez has gone four straight starts striking out at least six batters. Three of those starts came against the Mets, Cardinals, and Reds who are all top 10 in strikeouts on the season which is impressive. Marquez seems to be matchup-proof at this point. He won’t get you 10 but he will get you six.
He gets the Texas Rangers tonight who have struck out sixth-most in MLB so far this season. They’ve been better lately but they are still striking out almost ten times a game in the last week. Tonight they’ll have to bat a pitcher which feels like a free square. Marquez is worth the -125 price tag tonight.
