It’s time, people. A Game 5 for all the marbles and it’s on us to pick the right bet to lay. It’s not easy but we have to do it anyway. We’re gamblers, we gamble. Obviously I’m going MLB player prop on this one and it will be a K-prop. The thing is, you have to realize that playoffs are a different animal for these bets. On a normal day, if a guy gets into what appears to be a normal jam, they just let him pitch out of it. Not in a playoff situation. That’s why our eyes can’t get big when we see such a number laid on our boy tonight. These books are very sneaky like that. It’s why they are a worthy adversary in this game we play.
If you’re on Twitter, you need to follow me right now. That’s the best advice I can give you and probably the smartest thing you will do all day. Once lineups are announced for some of this game, there is a chance for opportunity to knock. You should be there to answer it.
Logan Webb over 4.5 strikeouts (-145)
Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.
It’s decision time on this MLB player prop. Do we go DraftKings at 4.5 -145? Or do we go FanDuel at 5.5 +124? I’m going DraftKings because of the situation but just know that if you go FanDuel you are a king (or queen) and should be treated as such.
Logan Webb has been as money as money can be for a while now. The 4.5 number was surprising but not shocking. I though for sure he would be 5.5 everywhere and juiced up pretty high because in 16 straight starts since July 21, he’s hit this number 14 times, including 3 times against the Dodgers. That’s crazy. Still, it’s the playoffs and managers have paper hands during these times. We’ve all seen it, so I feel better about the 4.5 rather than 5.5 even though the 5.5 is a king (or queen) bet we can tell our grandkids about someday.
We’ve already seen what Webb can do against the Dodgers so there is no need to overthink this one. He’s struck out at least 5 of them in all 4 starts against them this season. He’ll get to pitch to Julio Urias, who isn’t totally a strikeout guy but he kind of is. We’re talking 22 whiffs in 59 at-bats, so he isn’t clean, but borderline respectable when talking about pitchers with bats in their hands. I think Webb gets at least 5 Dodgers tonight.
This is my favorite MLB player prop of the night.
