Dylan Cease (CHW) over 7.5 strikeouts (-102)

Not too long ago, I took an under on a Dylan Cease strikeout prop. It’s safe to say that I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m ready to right that wrong by backing his over in tonight’s game against the Yankees. Cease has recorded at least 8 strikeouts in 5 of his 6 outings this season and will face the powerful New York lineup in Chicago on Thursday. Cease has thrived at Guaranteed Rate Field this season as his strikeout rate jumps from 34.3% to 41.2% when playing there.
All four of Cease’s pitches have above a 25% whiff rate, which is absurd. He is getting hitters to swing and miss with any of his pitches, which is why he ranks in the 82nd percentile for whiff rate and 84th percentile for chase rate in 2022. In his career against the Yankees, the White Sox ace has a 33.3% strikeout rate against 51 batters faced and his filthy off-speed is a poor matchup for the Yankees’ home-run-or-bust hitters.
Cease is making his case to be the best pitcher in baseball right now, and I’ll back him to record at least 8 strikeouts against the Yankees tonight.
