Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 107 wins and 85 losses for a gain of +15.2 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Sunday.
Zack Wheeler (PHI) over 6.5 Ks (-112)

We get to bet some Sunday Night Baseball tonight between the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals. The Phillies will be throwing in their ace Zack Wheeler while the Cardinals have veteran Adam Wainwright on the bump. Wheeler has been sensational at home this season. He’s rocking a 1.85 ERA mixed in with 1.1 strikeouts per inning. He has topped 7 strikeouts in 6 straight home starts and in 9 of his last 10 overall.
The Cardinals are always a tough team to register strikeouts against. On the season, their K rate against right-handed pitching is 20%, which ranks top 10 in baseball. Over the last 2 weeks, though, we’ve seen that number crawl up to 24.5%. Kyle Gibson gave the Phillies no chance out of the gate in yesterday’s game. He allowed 4 home runs in the 1st inning and was playing catch up all game. I expect Wheeler to give his best tonight and look to secure another series win for the Phillies.
