Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 95 wins and 75 losses for a gain of +13.34 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Friday.
Michael Kopech (CWS) under 4.5 hits allowed (-130)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Michael Kopech respectfully got lit up in his last start against the Houston Astros. He allowed 8 hits through 5.0 innings. Tonight it should be much easier against the Baltimore Orioles in Chicago.
Kopech has been dominant at home, allowing 8 hits through 28.2 innings pitched. He left early 2 starts ago against the Texas Rangers in the 1st inning after a sudden injury but should be a full go tonight for 6 to 7 innings.
The Orioles are hitting .228 against right-handed pitching and down to .219 in the last month. They have struggled all season long against elite pitching and have recorded under 5 hits against right-handed starters in 6 of their last 10 games. Baltimore is averaging 7 hits per game, which ranks 8th fewest in the majors. I have Kopech returning to form tonight and dealing at home, where he is under this number in all 5 starts.

Mitch Keller (PIT) under 2.5 earned runs (-115)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
We’re targeting another pitcher facing off against a team struggling against right-handed pitching. An alternative to this prop is Tampa Bay Rays first 5 team total under 2.5 runs. It’s currently at -135, so I’ll personally pass.
The Rays will have their hands full with Mitch Keller in town. Tampa Bay, just like Baltimore, is a bottom 5 team in terms of average and other major hitting categories against right-handed pitching. The Rays score the 7th-fewest number of runs per 5 innings in baseball at 2.20.
Keller has been sensational as of late. He has allowed under 3 earned runs in 6 consecutive starts and is averaging close to 90 pitches in his last 5 games. All signs point to Keller continuing his dominance against the struggling Rays.
