MLB Friday presents bettors with a loaded slate with almost every team in action. Let’s dive into our best MLB player prop bets for Friday, August 9, but don’t forget you can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for today’s matchups. I’m 39-20 with my MLB prop bets this season, so let’s keep that hot run going!

Robbie Ray (SFG) Under 4.5 hits allowed (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Robbie Ray will be making his 4th start of the season after missing over a year recovering from Tommy John surgery. The lefty hasn’t missed a beat with the long layoff. In 14.1 innings, Ray has allowed 10 hits, registering a 35% K-rate and a 10% walk-rate — unsustainable numbers, but he gets a great matchup on Friday night at home against a struggling Detroit Tigers team against left-handed pitching. Let’s dive into the numbers.

Since the all-star break, the Tigers have a small sample size against LHP. In 95 at-bats as a team, they are hitting well below .200 while striking out at a 30% rate. We dove into Ray’s K% above since he debuted in late July. He topped off at 86 pitches through 5 innings in his last start, so the potential of the Giants once again limiting him in some capacity is at chance.
