Are we dreaming? MLB Monday gives us bettors a 14-game slate with plenty of loaded offenses facing off against underwhelming arms. Let’s focus our attention to one of those offenses in the Texas Rangers. They’ll have the opportunity to tee off against Tylor Megill of the New York Mets. He headlines our top MLB player prop bet of the day, but be sure to also check out our MLB predictions for every matchup on the docket.

Tylor Megill (Mets) under 15.5 outs (-135)
Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Let me start out by saying if you have access to BetRivers, this prop is set at -103. Go there to bet it. Otherwise, BetMGM is laying the best number at -135. Like the Mets, it’s been a season to forget for Tylor Megill and it just might hit rock bottom tonight for the 28-year-old. Megill will be taking on the Texas Rangers who have watched their lead slip away in the AL West but still come into play today slugging at a top-10 rate against right-handed pitching in August.
Megill ranks in the bottom of the league in almost all major advanced metrics including xBA%, xSLG%, and chase rate. The Rangers offer one of the best 1-2 punches in the league with Marcus Semien and Corey Seager which is then followed by Nathaniel Lowe and Adolis Garcia who ranks in the top 5 in RBI’s. This could get ugly fast for Megill, and I see it hard for him to push himself 5+ innings tonight. He’s only reached the 6th in 3 of his last 10 starts including having a 6.86 ERA this month. Sure, the Mets bullpen isn’t as fresh as we’d like to see, but this is a perfect opportunity for the Rangers offense to come to life on the road against Megill who was just seen in the minor leagues in July.

Seattle Mariners over 4.5 runs (-125)
Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing.
We’re going with a ladder play here. I’ll have exposure on the Mariners team total over 6 runs in this one at +170 but a full unit on over 4.5 runs. Kyle Muller will be making his 2nd start against the Mariners this season which checks my first box. He was hit hard in that start with 6 earned runs over 5 innings. Who knows how deep Muller will go into this game as he’s thrown under 70 pitches in his last 2 games and doesn’t have an outs line posted. His earned prop is set at just 2.5 with juice on the over, so I’m made to believe the books think Muller won’t go deep today. That’s fine with me as the Athletics have the highest bullpen ERA this season.
Enough about Muller, let’s dive into the surging Seattle Mariners. They’ve won 11 out of their last 12 games and have scored at least 5 runs in 9 of those wins. They’re hitting stats against left-handed pitching this month is highly encouraging. They’re hitting at the 3rd best average and slugging at a top 5 rate. Mix that will this offense seeing Muller for the 2nd time this season and it screams offensive explosion.
