We get 10 games on the diamond to start our betting week. Let’s dive into my best MLB player prop bets for Monday, August 19, as I look to build on my 43-24 record this season. Also don’t forget that you can find out our experts’ MLB picks for today’s matchups.
Bryan Woo (SEA) Under 5.5 hits allowed (-140)

Logan Gilbert, teammate of Bryan Woo, gave us a slight scare on Friday Night as we cashed our way to Gilbert under 5.5 hits allowed. The following day on Twitter, we backed Luis Castillo of the Mariners at the same prop and number and again cashed. Finally, yesterday, George Kirby cashed our under 2.5 earned runs prop. Fast forward to tonight and we’re backing a Mariners starting pitcher for the fourth night in a row in Woo. Let’s dive in.
Woo is one of the most underrated arms in baseball at the moment. He doesn’t get talked about enough due to his injury history and low K% rate, but he’s been masterful when he’s taken the mound in 2024. He ranks in the 99th percentile in xERA and 85th in xBA – all while allowing minimal hard contact. The advanced metrics are off the chart for Woo, and books are still sleeping on him tonight, even against a high-powered offense in the Los Angeles Dodgers. But we’re most likely getting a Dodgers lineup without Freddie Freeman, who missed yesterday’s game due to a jammed finger. Manager Dave Roberts reported, “I can’t see him playing Monday”.
With an ERA of 2.06 this season, Woo has stayed under this prop in 13 of 14 starts. The Mariners will rarely push the second-year pro, and he has only topped 90 pitches in one start this season. Following quality outings by their starters over the weekend, the bullpen is fresh and ready to go if Woo gets in trouble.
