With a fully loaded 15-game MLB slate, we’re targeting two of the best players that baseball has to offer. Ronald Acuna Jr. and Corbin Burnes headline our top MLB player prop bets of the day, but be sure to also check out our MLB predictions for every matchup on the docket tonight.

Corbin Burnes (MIL) under 5.5 hits allowed (-140)

Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.

This line seems… off. Nobody in baseball is pitching better than Corbin Burnes at the moment. In 6 starts in July, Burnes had a 1.85 ERA, held batters to a .115 batting average and stayed under this prop in all 6 starts. His last start was just as good in terms of hits allowed. He issued 4 walks which of course doesn’t hurt us but allowed just 2 hits.

The White Sox have improved their bats against RHP as of late but nothing to sway me away from continuing to back Burnes. In August, they’re striking out at the 5th-highest rate in baseball against RHP but hitting at the 13th-best rate — an improvement from their bottom-7 ranking this season but still not entirely great. I don’t think we get bailed out by the walks tonight as the White Sox get a free pass at the fewest rate this season against RHP, but this line is still a hit too high. We’ll ride Burnes until the wheels fall off.

Ronald Acuna Jr (ATL) over 2.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs (-105)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Don’t let this number scare you, Ronald Acuna Jr. might be the only player in baseball where 2.5 hits+runs+RBIs is priced correctly. Acuna, barring any injury, will almost certainly take home the NL MVP. He’s hitting .340 (.346 against RHP), has belted 26 home runs, stolen a league-leading 53 bases and is tied for the most runs scored with former teammate Freddie Freeman. It doesn’t hurt that Acuna is backed by multiple all-stars. Matt Olsen is having a career year and Austin Riley is seeing the ball extremely well in August. He’s hitting .308 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.
The New York Mets will start Tylor Megill who, like the Mets, has had a disaster of a year. He has a 6.36 xERA and ranks in the bottom 5% of the league in xBA%. The top of the Braves’ order has seen Megill a handful of times throughout the years and the familiarity should do Acuna and Riley well. Given that it’s a road game, Acuna has the potential to get 5 at-bats tonight and cash this prop for the 34th time in 57 road games this season.
