Brayan Bello had a humbling outing last time out. He faced off against the Toronto Blue Jays for a second consecutive start, lasting just 2 innings. Like most starting pitchers, it’s hard enough to face an opponent multiple times in a season — batters get familiar with your stuff. So, we won’t take much into account in his last start. Bello has an excellent opportunity to bounce back tonight against a Marlins team that ranks in the bottom half of the league in K% against RHP over the last month. He’s surpassed the 5-strikeout mark in 8 of 14 starts this season while ranking in the league’s top half in chase rate. Let’s roll with a solid game from Bello as the first of today’s MLB player prop picks.

Pete Alonso (NYM) Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs (-130)

Pete Alonso spark-plugged the New York Mets from sellers at the trade deadline to contending for an NL Wild Card spot in June. They won 16 of their 24 games, while Alonso hit well over .300 against LHP. Luckily for bettors backing the Polar Bear, Alonso and the Mets will face off against Nationals southpaw Mitchell Parker and his near 4.00 xERA.
The rest of the Mets in front and behind Alonso in the lineup have been just as good. In their last 30 days, the Mets have hit an average of .309 against LHP- second-best in all of baseball. The books are putting much respect on the Mets’ offense tonight as their team total is set at 4.5 with vig on the over. Expect Alonso to be the culprit of a Mets offensive showing.
