Reese Olson (DET) under 4.5 hits allowed (-135)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Reese Olsen, the number #11 prospect in the Tigers system, makes his return to the Tigers rotation and gets a nice matchup against the Seattle Mariners in their dome stadium. Olson, in his first season in the big leagues, has been extremely solid for the Tigers. He ranks in the 77th percentile in xBA and has plenty of strikeout potential, especially against a Mariners lineup that is striking out at the 3rd highest rate against RHP in the last 30 days.

The numbers are skewed a bit since he spent time in the bullpen but Olson is under this line in six of eight games and has allowed only two hits in his last seven innings of work. This matches up well against a Mariners squad that has been underwhelming against RHP this season as their hitting at the third-lowest rate in all of baseball this season.

Houston Astros over 2.5 first 5 innings runs (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

It’s been a complete 180 for Tyler Anderson this season. After winning 15 games last season and a career-low 2.57 ERA, Anderson hasn’t been good enough after signing a deal with the Los Angeles Angels. His walks have been the biggest disappointment. Last season, Anderson ranked in the top 9% of the league in BB% but has jumped to the 28th percentile this season.

The Astros are projected to stack right-handed bats against Anderson who allows righties to hit for an average of over .295. Look for the Astros to build off their momentum last night when they registered four runs in the first five innings against fellow southpaw and teammate Reid Detmers.

Gerrit Cole (Yankees) to record a win (-105)

Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Gerrit Cole at Coors Field just sounds cool. He’s again been one of the best arms in all of baseball and got the start for the AL in the All-Star Gane. In his last start before the break, Cole got the win against the Chicago Cubs to move his record to 9-2. Most of the attention of this game comes from the Yankees offense facing off against Chase Anderson.

Anderson was spectacular in his first six starts with the Rockies. He had a 2.72 ERA and was giving the Rockies solid innings. Then it all turned against him. In his last four starts, Anderson has allowed a combined 27 runs and deservingly received the loss in each game. This is as skewed of a pitching matchup as we’ll see on today’s slate and we’ll gladly take advantage of it. Both lineups have familiarity with Cole and Anderson but we’ll side with the 6x All-Star.
