He is hitting .333 this season with 19 home runs, 20 doubles and 1 triple. His elite speed gives this prop much promise as he can turn a single into a double at any given time.
The Washington Nationals will have RHP Trevor Williams on the mound who Acuna has crushed. He has 6 total hits in 12 at-bats with 2 home runs. He finds himself at the top of the order where he will likely see 5 plate appearances as the Braves are projected for more than 6 runs. We are paying for the juice here, but rightfully so. Speaking of MLB awards, Shane McClanahan of the Tampa Bay Rays is the betting favorite to win the AL CY Young. He has racked up nine wins already and has a near sub 2.00 ERA. The one small knock on him is his BB%. His 9.5 BB% this season is the highest of his career, which ranks in the bottom 33rd percentile in all of baseball.
Today he faces off against a disciplined Texas Rangers offense that ranks in the top 5 in BB% against LHP this season. In 18 games against starting left-handed pitchers, the Rangers have been walked at least two times in 14 of those games. McClanahan on the other hand has issued at least 2 free passes in nine of 13 games. The top of the order in Marcus Semien, Nathaniel Lowe and Adolis Garcia are all great candidates to walk with their 9.6 or higher BB%.
