Anthony Rizzo, NYY, Over 0.5 total bases (-155)
Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Targeting Anthony Rizzo at home against a right-handed pitcher is always a must-bet. Now that it’s playable, it’s an easy play to target. We’re most likely getting this price because of his 0-hit game last night. Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Kyle Gibson was virtually unhittable. He pitched 7 innings and allowed only two hits.
Rizzo will face another right-hander tonight. San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove takes the mound for his 6th start of the season. Let’s start with the career number against Musgrove – they aren’t great. Rizzo has 1 hit in 16 at-bats against the former division foe but the two haven’t faced off since 2020. While Rizzo is having a career season at the plate, Musgrove is severely struggling. He has a 6.75 ERA on the season and has allowed 15 hits in two road starts.
The featured part of this bet is Rizzo being at home. He’s hitting .362 at Yankee Stadium and has registered a hit in 24 of 28 games. This is priced at -210 on FanDuel Sportsbook and they won’t void non-starters bets. Meaning if Rizzo doesn’t start but pinch hits and doesn’t get a hit, the bet loses. Meanwhile, Caesars voids the play if Rizzo doesn’t get the start. Bet this Rizzo prop on Caesars or DraftKings because of the price and house rules.

Joey Wentz, DET, Under 4.5 strikeouts (-128)
Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Joey Wentz is in for a tough outing at home against the Chicago White Sox. The 25-year-old lefty is in his 2nd season in the MLB and has a 7.45 ERA. He may want to forget his last few starts have happened. He’s failed to make it into the 3rd inning in his last two starts which has equated to a total of 4 strikeouts combined.
The White Sox have been surgical against left-handed pitching in May. They’re hitting .300 and have the 4th lowest strikeout rate. They have seen the 2nd second fewest at-bats against left-handed pitching during that stretch but it’s still encouraging that they’re not striking out. Wentz will most likely see 7-8 right-handed bats tonight who are hitting over .320 against him. He’s under this line in 6 of 9 games this season and the Tigers got a much-needed 6 innings from fellow starter Alex Faedo. Wentz could be in line for another short outing tonight if batters like Luis Robert Jr and Tim Anderson get to him early.
