It’s another big day in MLB with plenty of new series starting tonight, and I took a deep dive into the prop market in search of some value. I’ve landed on 2 plays for today (with one at plus-money odds!), so I’m looking extend my streak to 4-0 after sweeping my player props last time. Let’s get into my best MLB player prop bets for Tuesday, May 21, while you can also find out our MLB picks for tonight’s big matchups.
Ranger Suarez (PHI) to record the win (+130)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing
Ranger Suarez has made 9 starts this season and has recorded the win 8 times. That’s a pretty good win percentage. The only time he did not record the win was in his first start of the season against the Braves, but he still had a solid outing. That means Suarez has picked up the win in 8 straight outings, and I’m betting he can extend the streak tonight. The lefty has been phenomenal at home this season as he’s posted a 1.47 ERA and has limited hitters to a .204 batting average with a .554 OPS. To top it off, he hasn’t allowed an earned run since May 4.
The southpaw will face a Rangers offense that hasn’t looked anything like the World Series team they were last year. Marcus Semien and Corey Seager have been mediocre while the rest of the lineup isn’t doing much to help. On the season, Texas ranks 17th in batting average, 22nd in on-base percentage and 22nd in OPS against left-handed pitching. If Suarez can limit the Rangers at the plate, all the Phillies will need to do is score couple of runs to get him the win.

Bryan Woo (SEA) Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-155)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing
The Yankees have been mashing in the last few games. More specifically, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have been on fire. Plus, Anthony Volpe, Anthony Rizzo and Alex Verdugo have been very productive in their spots. That had led to New York owning the 8th-lowest strikeout rate in baseball in the last week. But if you make the sample size bigger and look at the last 2 weeks, the Yankees own a 16.5% strikeout rate — the lowest in all of baseball.
Tonight, the Yankees will face Bryan Woo, an up-and-coming pitcher on the Mariners. Woo has 8 strikeouts in 7.2 innings this season against the Athletics and Royals. In his short time on the mound, he has struggled to get batters to chase or whiff since he uses his fastball and sinker for over 75% of pitches. Without much offspeed pitch usage, the hitters have been putting a lot of balls in play. Expect New York to knock Woo around and only punch out 3 or 4 times.
