This is a dream matchup for Marcus Stroman. The Miami Marlins were left speechless at the plate in their last series against the Atlanta Braves. NL CY Young favorite Spencer Strider had a no-hitter through 7 innings and struck out 13 batters. That wasn’t much of a surprise. Teammates Charlie Morton and Kyle Wright combined for 15 Ks in 10.0 innings pitched.
Stroman is amid a career-best start in terms of strikeout rate. His 26% K rate is by far the best of his career, and it has come against tougher opponents than the Marlins. Other than the Oakland Athletics, Stroman reached 5 strikeouts against the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners — all in the bottom 20 in strikeout rate to right-handed pitchers. He has eclipsed this line in all 5 starts and is primed to go deep into this game with his outs prop line set at 17.5 (-165) on BetMGM.

This MLB player prop market is a favorite of mine. There are plenty of ways to cash it versus total bases. In the last game Jose Ramirez was walked in his first at-bat and was then batted in by a Josh Naylor home run. Ramirez cashed the over during his next at-bat with a double over the right-fielders head.
Tonight he’ll match up against Boston Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta. Pivetta doesn’t have a great history against the Guardians. In 2 games against them last season he allowed 16 hits and issued 3 free passes. Ramirez is a career 2-for-6 off Pivetta, which all came last season. Steven Kwan and Amed Rosario will be hitting in front of Ramirez and they are 8-for-25 off Pivetta.
Ramirez is over this line in 15 of 25 games this season, including 9 of 13 on the road. He’ll see Pivetta at least twice tonight and I’m confident he can find his way on base.
