On Thursday night, the Washington Nationals will look for the sweep against their in-state rival, the Baltimore Orioles. Powered by their young star, James Wood, who ranks in the 95th percentile in barrel percentage, hard-hit percentage and average exit velocity, he leads an offense that gets a favorable matchup against LHP Cade Povich and his 6.56 xERA — ranking in the bottom-10 percentile. We’re taking on some massive vig, but the rest of the market has this prop set at -160 and I like the Nats’ chances of crossing the plate multiple times.

It hasn’t been the start many envisioned for Jacob deGrom in 2025. His K% is the lowest of his career, while his BB% is the highest we’ve seen from him in his 11-year career. However, the advanced metrics point to positive regression. His fastball is still pumping at nearly 97 mph, while hitters are chasing at a 31% clip. The Athletics aren’t a great matchup, but this is the first time many of these hitters will see deGrom in their careers. I’ll gladly take a shot on him keeping the A’s bats quiet.
