Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 204 wins and 148 losses for a gain of +35.51 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Wednesday.

Lance McCullers to record a Win (+145)

Lance McCullers has been nothing short of spectacular since joining the starting rotation in mid-August. In six starts, he has an ERA of 2.34 and the Astros have won four of them; three of which McCullers received the win. Tonight, he will take on the Tampa Bay Rays and Corey Kluber who has been roughed up in his last two starts.
36-year-old Corey Kluber has allowed 10 runs in his last 6 innings pitched. The New York Yankees registered 8 hits and 6 runs on Kluber in the first inning while the Texas Rangers were able to put 4 across the board in 6 innings. The Astros’ offense is as lethal as they come. They rank in the top 10 in both slugging and on-base percentage against right-handed pitching this season. They also strike out at one of the lowest rates in baseball at 20%.
Kluber has allowed at least 3 runs in 7 of his last 10 starts and that should be more than enough for McCullers. There is some question about the lineup the Astros will put out due to them already clinching the AL West, but McCullers has pitched too well to not play this at +145.
