Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 202 wins and 145 losses for a gain of +37.59 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Sunday.

Framber Valdez (HOU) to record a win (-130)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Framber Valdez is on one of the most historic runs we’ve seen by a pitcher in baseball. He is currently tied for the MLB record with 24 consecutive quality starts. In 48.0 innings pitched in August and September, Valdez has allowed only 11 earned runs and opponents are hitting for an average of .217. Valdez and the Houston Astros will look to bounce back following an 8-5 loss last night against the Oakland Athletics.
The Athletics seem to be in tank mode every single season. They will have their work cut out for them with Valdez on the bump. This will be Valdez’s 3rd start against the Athletics this season. In the 2 previous starts, Valdez pitched 9.0 and 8.0 innings and allowed 3 earned runs combined. The Athletics are hitting .216 against left-handed pitching in the last 30 days while the Astros rank 2nd in baseball during that span at .292. The Athletics will start 24-year-old lefty Ken Waldichuk. Oakland has lost all 3 of Waadlichuk’s starts this season and he has an ERA of 5.4.
The Astros have won 9 of Valdez’s last 10 starts and should have no issues with this Athletics team that is 53-93 and is +280 on the money line.
