Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 160 wins and 109 losses for a gain of +37.43 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Friday.

Nathan Eovaldi (BOS) over 2.5 earned runs (-135)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Nathan Eovaldi is in his 5th season with the Boston Red Sox and has been more than reliable. He’s had an injury-plagued season and that’s exactly why we’re targeting him tonight against the Red Sox’s most hated rival, the New York Yankees.
Eovaldi returned from a month-long stint on the IL against the Yankees on July 15th. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched. Since that start, he’s allowed at least 3 earned runs in 3 of 4 starts.
These Yankees hitters are very familiar with Eovaldi. At least 6 of the Yankees’ projected hitters tonight have 10 plate appearances versus the right-hander.
The Yankees are 2-8 over their last 10 games and this is a perfect game to get back on track. Even with their struggles, they’ve registered at least 3 earned runs on a right-handed starter in 5 of 6 games in August.
Eovaldi has a mind-blowing 6.8 ERA at Fenway Park and it’s not going to get much easier tonight. He’s over this line in 4 of 7 home starts and has allowed at least 2 earned runs in 6 of those games.
