Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 69 wins and 56 losses for a gain of +9.80 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Sunday.
Zac Gallen (ARI) over 17.5 outs (-115)
Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Zac Gallen has been good to us. We’ve backed plenty of his props in his 9 starts to begin the season. Today, I have Gallen going at least 6 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pirates are hitting .219 against right-handed pitching in the last month, which ranks in the bottom 3 in the league. They’ve struggled to put the ball in play as they’ve struck out at least 6 times to right-handed starters in 4 of their last 5 games.
Gallen has failed to make it out of the 6th inning in his past 2 games. He was pulled after getting 2 outs in the 6th in his last start, but I don’t see that happening today against the slumping Pirates.
