Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season is listed in my bio. On the year, I recorded 150 wins and 107 losses for a gain of +31 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Wednesday.
Yu Darvish (SDP) under 2.5 earned runs (-145)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Yu Darvish at home is a different animal. His ERA at Petco Park is down to 1.37 in 3 starts and has yet to allow more than 2 runs. Darvish is fresh off of dealing in Philadelphia. He went 7 innings on his way to a 2-0 win.
Today he will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers sit atop of the NL Central division with a record of 27-16 but right-handed starters have had solid outings versus Milwaukee. The last 10 right-handed starters to face off against the Brewers have combined for 19 earned runs and 7 of them have held the Brewers to less than 3 runs including the last 6.
We’re not asking for Darvish to be perfect and less than 3 runs is easily doable for one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Lucas Giolito (CWS) over 4.5 hits allowed (+100)
Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
The hits allowed market may be new to some. DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars are the 3 books that offer these props. We’ve found some nice edges on the early season on books since it’s difficult to create a line without lineup news.
We’re taking our money and backing the Boston Red Sox’s scorching-hot offense. Against right-handed pitchers in the month of May, they lead all of baseball in average, and top 5 in slugging percentage. The top of the order consisting of Enrique Hernandez, Rafael Devers, J.D. Martinez and Xander Bogaerts crushed stud pitcher Dylan Cease last night. We personally were on his hits allowed prop at over 3.5. It cashed in the 1st inning! Giolito is just as elite so no I do not expect a win in the 1st inning but, Giolito is going to have to provide the Chicago White Sox with solid innings after Cease only lasted 3 innings.
The Red Sox have faced off against 16 right-handed pitchers in the month of May; they’ve recorded over 5 hits against 13 of them. Giolito himself has allowed 13 hits in his last 2 starts.
With an anticipated longer leash for Giolito and the Red Sox’s hot bats, I have Giolito projected to allow 6 hits tonight.
