Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write up my plays for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season and this season is listed in my bio. On the year, I’ve recorded 248 wins and 158 losses for a gain of +37.75 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Wednesday.

Davis Martin (CWS) under 5.5 strikeouts (-115)

We’ve reached the final day of the MLB regular season, and we’re wrapping things up with an under prop. Today, we’re targeting Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Davis Martin, who has made 8 starts this season with a 3.75 ERA. He’s recorded 47 strikeouts through 61.1 innings pitched. His opponent today will be the Minnesota Twins. Both teams are out of playoff contention but that doesn’t mean there isn’t value in this game.
Martin is in his 1st season in the big leagues and is finally getting his chance as the season ends. His pitch count has risen every start and he should be in line to pitch at least six innings today. This number is still a strikeout too high against the Twins, who ranked in the bottom half of the majors in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.
Martin has looked sharp as of late against the Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres. He recorded 4 and 8 strikeouts respectfully and will be auditioning for a starting role next season. I have Martin projected at 5.1 innings pitched with 4 strikeouts.
