We coasted to an easy win on our best MLB player prop bet yesterday, as Reese Olson was able to dominate against the White Sox like we envisioned. Let’s look ahead to the MLB action on Monday, June 24, as we get a 12-game slate and plenty of action to dip our toes into. You can also find out our MLB picks for today’s big matchups, but for now, let’s dive into my best MLB player prop bets for Monday.
Trea Turner (PHI) over 2.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs (+110)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
After spending more than a month on the IL with a hamstring injury, Trea Turner has not missed a beat in his first 5 games back. He returned to the Philadelphia Phillies lineup during his team’s homestand on June 17 and instantly created a spark in the 2-hole. He’s recorded a hit in each game while cashing the over of 2.5 hits+runs+RBIs prop in 3 of those games. Turner will look to jumpstart one of the most potent offenses tonight on the road against the Detroit Tigers, facing off against underwhelming RHP Casey Mize.
Tigers starter Mize, a former #1 overall pick back in 2018, missed all of 2023 and is still working out the kinks in 2024. He ranks in the bottom 32nd and 8th percentile in xERA and xBA while having low put-away stuff to get hitters out. His whiff% and K-rate rank in the bottom 10% of all qualifying pitchers. A tough outing is in the cards against an offense like the Phillies and a hitter like Trea Turner. With hitters like Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm hitting behind Turner while also getting a matchup against a pitcher with reverse splits, this is a prop we’ll gladly take a stab at with enticing +110 odds.
