Nonetheless, he has been a monster at the plate this season and is a threat to cash this with one swing of the bat. Let’s look ahead to tonight, when he faces off against Nathan Eovaldi — whom Alvarez saw in Game 2 and hit a home run in the 1st inning.
Alvarez will look to build off his .417 average this postseason — a remarkable number in 36 at-bats. He has hit a league-high 6 home runs during this postseason run in just 2 series. Compare that to the Phillies hitters, who still trail him after playing 2 games in the wild-card round. This player prop is scary to target in the postseason with teams being selective about who they want to pitch to. But Alvarez has drawn just 1 walk this series, which came in Game 2.
