Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the 2025 MLB season! And for anyone new to tailing MLB with me, welcome to NRSIs. Your typical capper loves NRFIs and YRFIs, and on occasion I can too. These are my absolute babies though – essentially targeting the 2nd inning rather than the first. The amount of units we have made sweating 6 outs and a dream in the 2nd inning is massive. Let’s get into the bet, while you can also get our expert MLB picks for EVERY game on Opening Day.

Tigers vs Dodgers: No Run Second Inning (NRSI) + Neither Team To Score 7+ Runs (-112)

Odds available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We have Tarik Skubal vs Blake Snell. How beautiful is that? Unlike betting the NRFI, it is highly unlikely that we have to worry about Ohtani, Betts and Freeman when Skubal is pitching. Although the Dodgers have a great all-around order, it will be nice if we get to avoid those stars. Skubal is a hoss. The man is coming off a 2.39 ERA year and a Cy Young season. I expect more of the same for Skoob. The Dodgers are 7-36 against him lifetime, which is a mere .194 average. He should not only have a clean 2nd inning but he should pitch a nice game too. Detroit has a great bullpen that should help us not worry too much about our juice reducer of neither team to score 7+ runs.

On the flip side, we have Snell. Detroit bats are 5-29 against him, which is just a .172 average. Many bats on the Tigers have zero experience against Snell. In my betting experience, the lack of history between a pitcher and a batter usually favors the pitcher. The Tigers don’t have anyone batting 4-9 that scares me away from taking this pick. The Dodgers also have an elite bullpen which makes me feel tucked into the juice reducer of ours.

We will be taking a lot of these NRSIs with a juice reducer over the course of the season. Let’s enjoy an absolutely lovely season of hopefully profiting on one of the most beautiful sports there is. Ladies and gentlemen, baseball is back. Let’s roll!
